Hyperspace Cowboys

I won't dawdle here, just post up something I whipped together regarding language, slang, lingo, jargon and the like that one would be likely to find in the Star Wars galaxy in the time-frame The Old Republic takes place in. Yes, it's for role-playing as well as as for anyone that might like to have a concentrated and abridged lexicon for use in TOR fiction works. I own nothing of this except my time compiling it.

That said, I should point out that with this, I've made the effort to attempt to filter out terms; from the overall Star Wars lexicon; that originate from very specific sources not available in this timeframe (ie: Empire/New Republic eras and forward) while giving careful consideration to some that are general enough to have either carried over or found recreation in later time-frames (such as the 10 and 100 percent below, having been sourced to ARCs from just before the Empire era. They're general enough that in 3500 years there's nothing saying they can't have been revived, retained, or are simply re-conceived of in the era that they're "sourced" from).

I've also included a few language dumps when I've had the material available. I do hope to fill in those few that may lay omitted when given time and source material. I've also tried to make rational interpretations regarding a few terms or phrases that; to my knowledge, had no specific English synonym. Comments are welcomed, as are suggestions and if I've made any egregious errors or lapses, do let me know.

ABH: Average Bounty Hunter, though could also mean an above-average bounty hunter.

Abo: an Imperial slang word used to denote any indigenous lifeform to a planet.

Action: Pirate slang for ship-to-ship engagements.

Achuta: Huttese greeting meaning 'Hello'

Acquisition: Bounty Hunter slang. Any individual that is the subject of a bounty

Alpha team: generic term to describe the first survey group to determine a newly-found planet's resources and habitability

Another kettle of Giju: A completely different example; another case; equivalent to real-world "Another kettle of fish."

Antenna-breaker: this is an underworld slang term which refers to the hired thugs of a crimelord. Antenna-breakers are the goons sent out to collect the fees and interest charged by their employers, and are under order to break the antennae of their victim if they can't pay up.

Aristo: a wealthy individual

As slippery as a greased Dug: Untrustworthy

As smooth as the surface of a neutron star: VERY smooth

Astral!: An exclamation which was equivalent to “Cool!”

Aurora borealis sky-fire: A phrase used to describe something with vivid, shimmering colors.

Aw, nuts: Expression of dismay

Baay Shfat: an obscenity of unknown origin about Hutts

Backrocket: Adjective, usually a derogatory modifier, used figuratively to mean backwards, quaint, or inferior.

Bag of bolts: An insult directed at droids

Bantha: this is a military slang term referring to a walker.

Bantha Brain: An insult indicating one has the intelligence of the slow-moving Bantha

Bantha Brakes: this was spacer's slang for a tractor beam.

Bantha breath: insult of someone’s hygiene

Bantha Dung: Something very unlikable

Bantha Fodder (or Bantha poodoo in Huttese): An exclamation meaning Bantha food, an insult; Suggestion that someone is dead or soon to be dead; "As good as dead.” The word "fodder has likely been contaminated in this instance by the double-meaning of the Huttese word Poodoo

Bantha Sweat: A colorful description used to demean something, as in "That planet is a ball of bantha sweat"

Barve: A slang term, loosely equivalent to pig.

Barvy: A variation on the above, it insinuates an individual is acting erratically, as in, "Are you barvy? You can't take on the whole Empire yourself!" The equivalent of being "barmy"

Bastasi: An Ansionian expletive, used to indicate an individual's loss of patience.

Battlecan: A somewhat disparaging term used in reference to canny and/or aggressive veterans of the military

BBH: Boring Bounty Hunter. A term for common target practice bounty hunters.

Beef: Slang term for "problem," as in the phrase "What's your beef?

Beta mission: following the recommendation of an Alpha Team with regards to a newly-discovered planet, if colonization is an option then a Beta Mission is sent to begin the preliminary activities to ready the planet for habitation.

Big Boys: Heavy armored transports

Big L: a slang term used by starpilots to refer to lightspeed.

Binary: as in “you can be so binary sometimes”; meant as a criticism for stubbornness or in ability to compromise on an issue.

Binary: or Droidspeak, was a language of beeps, trills, and whistles spoken primarily by astromech droids. It was also spoken by other models of droid. Organic beings who spent a lot of time with droids could often pick up a basic understanding as well.

Big Push, The: a slang term referring to the killing of another individual.

Big Green Fish: An expletive (similar to “Great Green Hornytoads”)

Bird: Slang term for any starship

Bishwag: An expletive used by many Humans to indicate an untrustworthy being.

Black: jargon for any large denomination of money, at least 1,000 credits, that is probably “blackmarked” or “tracable”. Also used for describing events, plans, or information that are highly secured and guarded.

Black nerf: A disreputable family member; the equivalent of "black sheep".

Black Scum: derogatory name to describe members of Black Sun.

Blast!: An interjection, the equivalent of "shoot!".

Blaster Bolts!: An interjection.

Blaster-brained: A derogatory description implying dim-wittedness. See also Bantha-brain, brainbolted, and void-brain.

Blastfighter: gunslingers who staged quick-draw fights across the Outer Rim.

Blaster Fodder: A term used for troopers who were sent on impossible missions, likely ending in their deaths; equivalent of cannon fodder

Blaster-happy: An adjective equivalent to "trigger-happy"

Blaster-proof: Pirate slang for a master spacer, someone who knows space life intimately, especially one who has been in several actions.

Blinking: An expletive

Blinker: this was an underworld slang term, used to describe a narcotic addict. It referred to the rapid, involuntary eye movement caused by severe addiction.

Bloah: An interjection used on the planet Tatooine

Blockade Runner: any small, well-armed ship used to break through a planetary blockade

Bloodshine: term used by the Sith Lords to describe the red color of their lightsaber blades.

Bloodsuckers: Bounty Hunter lingo. Collectors of permit fees.

Bloodwork: ancient word for bounty hunting.

Bludfly: this slang term was used to describe any being who would sell their own mother in order to get ahead.

Blue Milk Run: An ordinary and uneventful mission.

Boarders: Anyone attacking another ship’s crew/passengers in close-quarters combat.

Bocce: an artificial language used by spacers. It was composed of elements from several languages.

Body Bucket: this was a slang term used by armorers to describe the pieces of armor used by troopers.

Bolt-board: A belittling term for a droid

Boltbrain: An insult geared toward automatons, as in, "Yee-haw! Boltbrain's good as scrap!"

Bucket of bolts: An insult directed directed toward machinery, including ships and droids, as in, "This bucket of bolts is never gonna get us past that blockade!"

Bullethead: An insult in reference to droids

Bomarr cast-off: Insult referring to an individual rejected by the Bomarr religious sect, or an outcast.

Bombad: Superlative, used mainly by Gungans

Bongo: Slang term for a hitman.

Boost-Bot: A droid designed to help steal repulsorcraft and parts

Booty: Pirate slang for anything of value seized from a prize.

Borg: Slang term for a cyborg.

Borg-licker: An insult used by individuals who were prejudiced against cyborgs to refer to individuals who did not share their prejudice.

Borked: An adaptable expletive; see Farkled.

Bo shuda: Huttese…. ‘Greeting’

BH: Bounty hunter.

Brainbolted: Derogatory modifier suggesting robotic or unthinking behavior. See also boltbrain

Brainpicker: this was a slang term used to describe a being of the Anzati race.

Brain Tails: slang for the lekku of a Twi’lek

Braintick: An insult, referring to an arachnid that attached itself to a host's brain.

Brainwalker: derogatory name for the B’omarr monks

Brandy Ague: starfighter pilot slang for a hangover.

Braze: Air pollution; short for "brown haze".

Breakfast: this was starfighter pilot slang for a pair of Sith Fighters flying in formation.

Bright: Republic pilot slang for a Sith Advanced starfighter.

Brix: An expletive. E.g. "What the brix are you doing here?"

Broggle: An act that denotes surprise, i.e. "I'll be broggled!"

Brother (or Sister): Pirate slang for a fellow pirate, or fellow privateer, captain.

BTAD: in the lingo known as deal-slang, this was shorthand for a Boring, Typical, Average Deal.

Bucket: Military slang for “helmet”.

Buckethead: A derogatory term for Mandalorians and likely other helmet wearing soldiers

Bucket of bolts: Mostly negative descriptor for a piece of complex technology

Bug: Geonosian (also applicable as derogatory to any insectiod species)

BUG: Big Ugly Guy. Term for any hostile alien

Bug-face: Derogatory word for a Rodian

Buggie: derogatory term used by many humanoid races to describe any being of insectile shape or race Also, “bugger”.

Bugslut: General insult or racist derogatory word used to describe a female (or male in some cases) either associating with insectoid species or in a cross-species mating with a member of an insectoid species.

Bumblefluff: Exclamation meaning “Nonsense”

Burnin': a slang expletive adjective.

Burn sky until we see lines: Fly until you go into hyperspace

Burning skies!: Exclamation

Burnout: a slang term referring to the loss of a starship's power plant.

Bursting: Two-fold phrase that referred to 1) throwing a live grenade or thermal detonator down the throat of a large opposing predator or 2) entering a known enemy trap and using its firepower against itself.

By the abyss: An exclamation

By the Center of Everything!: an exclamation

By the Core!: An exclamation

By the Cosmic Egg!: a Nediji exclamation

By the Dark Lord: An exclamation of possible Sith or Jedi origin, who understood the gravity of invoking the title of such a being

By the Dawn Wind: An exclamation used among the aerial S'kytri, whose culture viewed the winds as sacred. By the Great Wind was another favored exclamation

By the Emperor’s Black Heart!: An exclamation

By the Four Moons!: An exclamation, possibly used only by (or originated by) the citizens of Onderon.

By the ocean's hair: An exclamation originating from the aquatic Mere species

By the Original Light: An exclamation

By the red seas of Knores: A curse

By the seven moons of Skärtis: An exclamation

By the stars: An exclamation, often accompanied by elaboration for empahsis, as in, By the pitiless stars and By the black stars

By the Thousand Tides: An exclamation of Nautolan origin

By Tion's spleen: An exclamation referring to the ruler of the Tion Cluster

By Xim’s Beard!: An exclamation referring to the beard of the pirate Lord Xim the Despot.

Byss' Blind Eye!: An exclamation of the one-eyed Abyssin, it refers to their homeworld, rather than the Deep Core planet by the same name

Can of corrosion: An insult aimed at droids, most often.

Cantina rat: An insult directed toward bar loungers

Camwielder: a reporter who uses a flatcam to record events.

Carbon Flush: Vulgar expression used to indicate an extremely displeasing situation.

Carbon-scored: A derogatory modifier used among droids, as in, "You carbon-scored cry-baby!"

Cargo hold: Spacers' slang for backside. Equivalent to the English word “***”

Carpet-Back: slang term, often used in a derogatory fashion, to refer to a member of the Wookiee race.

Case Green: Military code meaning no resistance or all is clear.

Case Yellow: Military code meaning light resistance

Chakta sai kae: Old Corellian toast.

Chakk: Herglic slang for a naïve person, “born yesterday”, or literally a young Herglic not yet weaned from it’s mother’s milk.

Chaos: referred to as Hell in Corellian mythology and also known as “the void“, this was a dark region of the Netherworld of the Force. The Naboo shared a similar myth.

Chaos take me!: Mild expletive suggesting the subject is doing something they know is unwise.

Charge up her loading ramp: Slang for sexual intercourse

Cheeka: Woman

Cheespa bo coopa: Phrase translated as "better watch it."(Bocce? Huttese?)

Cheunh: the language of the Chiss species, a dominant force in the Unknown Regions.

Chewing the luna-weed: Phrase used to describe someone who is acting crazy.

Chikra: Houk term of endearment for children

Chipbrain: An insult used by humans toward droids. Also, chips for brains

Chiphead: An insult directed toward droids

Chitin-brain: An insult directed toward races with a chitinous exterior

Chizk: A derogatory term

Choobies: this is a vulgar slang term for the genitals. Equivalent to the real-world English slangword

Chroma-neeka: this was a gambler's slang term for any being who worked within the corporate and political bureaucracy to exploit the knowledge that some people are too stupid for their own good. They could steal just about anything out from underneath corporate security, or pose as a government official to steal secret information.

Chuba!: Huttese translated as "You!" or "Hey you!". Literally, Huttese for an animal similar to a real-world frog or toad.

Chubba: Expletive used by the Squib species.

Chucked under the speeder: A term meaning that one has openly saved themselves from condemnation at the expense of a comrade.

Chuff-sucking: Derogatory modifier. Equivalent to “****-eating…”

Chuff-sucking Leech: An insult, likely referring to the habit of some species of annelid.

Chunder: this is a Drovian slang term for excrement.

Chut chut: Simple phrase meaning “never mind”

Circuit-brain: An insult directed at droids

Circuitry Commando: any resistance member or freedom fighter skilled in the use of computers and electronics

Civvies: Slang term for civilians, or civilian clothing

Clambake: A blaster fight.

Clear Skies: Phrase used to wishing someone a good journey. Mostly spacer usage.

Club: Pirate slang for an ion cannon, used to bring a prize into submission.

Cold Jump: Spacer slang for jumping to light speed without preprogrammed coordinates set into the navicomputer. Highly dangerous.

Comm call: Slang meaning a conversation carried out by using an electronic communications device

Commo: Slang used for anything related to communications

Company: Pirate jargon for the ship, officers and crew collectively. Especially when set up along business lines.

Connect-disconnect: Slang term used to describe a one-night stand

Connecting the nav-points: Phrase meaning a comprehensive attempt at illustration or explanation of a subject. Equivalent to the real-world English phrase "connecting the dots."

Corellian Overdrive: Phrase meaning doing whatever one needs to do in order to get to where one needs to get to. It ranges from finagling the rules to rearranging operational parameters, but doesn't mean cheating in an honest game.

Coreward: Spacer slang for “towards the core worlds”.

Core-slime: An insult directed toward inhabitants of the Core Worlds

Come-up Flector: a person who patrolled a starport or other point of debarkation, searching for potential buyers of services they don't really need.

Corporata: term to describe the unfailing loyalty and devotion to one's corporation. In simple terms, corporata was the belief that one's corporate "family" was the only family one would ever need.

Cosmic Deck: a colloquial term referring to fate. To take 'hits' as from a deck of cards and make the best of a situation

Cosmic Overdrive: this was a slang term used to describe a starship's fastest possible sublight speed.

Cousin: Privateer term for their shipboard Republic observer. See uncle and family.

Crash and Bash: this was deal-slang for any act of thievery which involved the destruction of non-essential property, to make the act appear to be a random act of piracy.

Crate: any form of landing craft.

Creature Chess: a slang term for the Dejarik game.

Creespa: Huttese for “crispy“.

Creddrone: this slang term refers to the lowest drudges working for minimal wages and living in the poorest of conditions.

Crimey: An oath, possibly of Bith origin

Crink: Curse, as in "go crink yourself."

Crisping: Slang term presumably relating to death by Force Lightning

Cruise: Pirate/privateer jargon meaning to go raiding for an extended period.

Cut the phobium: Phrase meaning "stop lying". Equivalent to the real-world English phrase "cut the crap."

Cute as a Gamorrean's sister: An insult that derives its impact from sarcasm, as the general population does not view the porcine Gamorrean race as particularly attractive

Dag: Loose equivalent of "Dang".

Damn: An expletive used to express anger, annoyance, disgust, etc.

Damp down your power-core: Slang for “cool down”

Dang-blamed: An expletive adjective

Dark Side Take You: A curse (Wretched Hives of Scum and Villainy).

Darkspace: the starless void between galaxies (given another meaning by an alien race in the future)

Deal-slang: this collection of terms and phrases grew out of the haggling and bargaining often required when dealing with criminal elements, was used by conmen and swindlers ,and described many of the activities they took part in.

Deconstructor: bomb expert

Décor: this was starfighter pilot slang for the designations of rank each officer wore, and the respect and honor they deserved from other pilots. It was used disparagingly, because it meant flight officers had to keep their opinions to themselves. Many Captains and Commanders preferred to go "no decor" when not on a mission or in the presence of VIPs, since it maintained morale among the squadron-mates.

Deep Hunting: Lurking in deep space with mass blocks to pounce on anyone unlucky enough to drop out of hyperspace.

Demon of darkness: A curse

Dets: Slang for detonators

Di'kut: A Mandalorian expletive meaning "idiot".

Dinos of Dellalt: An exclamation

Dirt: Slang used by spacers for solid ground.

Dirtdock: this slang term was used by officers of the Corellian Security Force to describe Treasure Ship Row.

Dirt flyer: Phrase used by to describe an atmospheric pilot

Dirt general: A derogatory Sith term for a non-Force sensitive military officer.

Dirklocked: Spacer jargon meaning to be temporarily or permanently grounded.

Dirtside: Going to a planet's surface.

Do garrals have freckles?: A phrase equivalent to "Does night follow day?"

Doellin's Triple Teats!: A Gran exclamation, referring to the species' doe-like goddess

Dopa meekie or dopa-meekie: Huttese meaning 'Double-crossing'

Dopa maskey: Huttese meaning 'Two-faced'

Dosh: The language of the Trandoshan species, natives of the planet Trandosha.

Double-spawner: An Ishi Tib insult for an unfaithful spouse or lover; a two-timer

Drill the Woofer: this phrase originated in the lowly cantinas of the galaxy, A slang phrase, it meant that a being was particularly bad at something, as in "You really drill the woofer!"

Droid Poppers: slang for EMP grenades

Drok It: A Corellian expletive. This is an homage to the phrase "Drokk it" made popular in the Judge Dredd series of stories from 2000 A.D. Magazine.

Droid-Rot: deterioration or corrosion of a droid's electrical wiring and circuitry.

Drooling Drebble: in the jargon known as deal-slang, this was the term for a bounty hunter.

Drooling Drebble With Fangs: in the jargon known as deal-slang, this was the term for a particularly nasty bounty hunter.

Drop-Point: any location which was maintained for the secret delivery of goods and material. These locations could also be used by the Intelligence division as a field office.

Dumbot: derogatory term for any labor droid who performed a single, repetitive operation, such as welding the frame of a landspeeder.

Droyk: A Corellian expletive

Druk: An obscenity used in conjunction with other words for emphasis, as in "A drukload of troopers"

Dubesor: An insult on Antipose XII

Dung beetle: An insult referring to a kind of insect native to Neimodia

Dung-hole: Insinuating a place is suitable as a fecal depository

Dungcreeper: An insult, referring to a vile creature. See lylek-dung grubber.

Dungpit: An insult signifying a place, possibly referring specifically to a method of waste disposal of Barabel origin, as in, "Now you have dragged us all into the dungpit!"

Durese: The Duros language remained a popular language among space travelers due to the abundance of Duro spacefarers, despite the predominance of Basic.

Durned: A derogatory modifier.

Dust-happy: this is Corellian slang for anyone addicted to spice.

Dust mote: Slang used on Tatooine for a grain of sand

Drunken Mynock School of Instruction: To buy one's pilot's license from this place was a slang phrase for someone with no skill at flying ships.

Dwarfnut: Neimoidian insult meaning "fool".

Dyeesh: An interjection, suspected equivalent to "jeez" or "yeesh" or "sheesh".

E chu ta!: A Huttese insult.[ Ben Burtt says that it's not really appropriate to translate.]

Earworm: A Corellian term for a nuisance or pest.

Ekster: A Corellian term for an offworlder who immigrated to Corellia.

Emperor's Black Bones!: An exclamation.

Emperor's Black Heart: A derogatory modifier, as in, "What in the Emperor's Black Heart...?

Emwhulb: A Socorran expletive, meant to indicate a being of low standards and no
loyalty.

Enforcer: An individual who serves as a personal expediter.

Enster: A Corellian term an emigrant from Corellia.

Fanboy: this is military slang for a crewman of a hovercraft.

Fangface: An insulting nickname for members of the buck-toothed Aqualish race. See also Hammerhead, Prune Face, and Slanthead.

Family: Privateer jargon for the government sponsoring them.

Farkled: An adaptable expletive, as in, "You just got farkled.", or used to describe any situation which was bleak or disastrous, as in, "We're farkled."

Fedding: An expletive used throughout the Tapani Sector of the galaxy.

Feed me to the fishes of Naboo: a statement of incredulity

Felek: The Ansionian word for mentally deranged. Addled.

Feek!: A Jawese exclamation

Feke: an exclamation

Fergal: Expletive

Ferglutz: An expletive

Festering: An adaptable expletive

Few starships short of a fleet: lingo for insane

Fierfek: A Huttese expletive; it means "curse" or "hex", although it is often misunderstood as "poison".

Filswik: An expletive used by Republic pilots.

Fill Yer Boots: A phrase meaning "Eat your fill".

Final Jump: spacer slang for dying, usually peacefully

Fire-brand: A term meaning "troublemaker" or "hothead."

'Firm: Short for affirmative, used as "'firm that"

Fish: (also Fish-head) Slang for a Mon Calamari or other aquatic species.

First Kiss: spacer slang for a smooth, gentle landing.

First twilight: The time between first and second sunsets on Tatooine

Fixer: a specialized form of computer slicer. An example, fixers hack into corporate or government data centers and stole proprietary information, leaving forged - though bogus - data behind. They then sold the information on the black market. It was believed that the term "fixer" came from the Sullustan phrase “tersish g'loc“, which loosely translated to "fix them once and for all."

Flack: An expletive used by troops across the galaxy.

Flaming: A derogatory modifier.

Flammer: this was a slang term used by law enforcement officers to indicate a con artist.

Flanked: A disparaging adjective, as in, "Get these flanked smugglers hoofing, anyway"

Flare out: To be hit or disabled by an ion flare; swoop racing jargon

Flarg: An expletive which often referred to excrement.

Flashtail: any hasty and swift departure for a remote destination, as in "We'd better flashtail it out of here, or we'll never make it."

Floob: A Sullustan expletive describing one who has upset the speaker.

Floogy: A disparaging adjective, as in, "Floogy things take up way more room than they're worth"

Flot: An insult, as in, "You useless flot!"

Flott: An alien expletive.

Flupp: A Dug expletive.

Flutie: any race that can't speak the Basic language of humans.

Flux-fiend: this was gambler's slang for any gambler who liked to play flux.

Flyboy: A potentially disparaging synonym for a male pilot, depending on context, as in, "Into the garbage chute, flyboy!" See also star-boy.

Fofo: Means 'double'.

For Edge's sake!: An expletive.

For galaxy's sake: An exclamation

Force-forsaken: A derogatory modifier

Frack: (also Frak) An expletive. An homage to the original Battlestar Galactica sci-fi series where the term "frack" originally appeared, as well as multiple other IPs. Also frakkin'.

Fraidee-frog: A Gungan word equivalent to “fraidy-cat”

Frag: An adaptable expletive, approximating to "****" in English. It can also be short for "fragmentation", as in "frag grenade". Also Fraggin’

Frang: A Twi'lek expletive.

Frappin': A derogatory modifier

Freq: Short for frequency.

Freg: An expletive.

Freg'd: A derogatory verb insinuating destruction, as in, "My moisture farm got freg'd to the ground!"

Free-freighter: (also Free-hauler) this was spacer's slang for any transport ship or freighter which was independently owned and operated.

Freeze, the: Space: Also, “the deep freeze”, deep space.

Freeze in the Ninth Circle of Damnation: A pejorative request, likely referring to the last of the Nine Corellian Hells. See also Rot in Boboqueequee, Rot in Qasak, and To the Hells....

Frell: A curse. An homage to the Farscape sci-fi series where the term "frell" originally appeared.

Frell me dead: an expletive similar to the real-world phrase “well, **** me” or “**** me running”

Freighter Bum: a common slang term for any cargo pilot or spacer.

Frink: A Corellian expletive.

Frip: An expletive used by the natives of Indu San.

Fripping: An expletive used as an adjective by the natives of the planet Indu San.

Frizz: An expletive.

Frizzle: The verbal form of Frizz, it denotes an act of betrayal, as in "You frizzled me!"; to screw-over

Frosty: (also Chilly or Cold or Cool) refers to a person remaining calm under fire or other dangerous or chaotic situations.

Frotz: A curse.

Gunnery seat: a term for the front passenger seat of a speeder. It could be shouted before entering the vehicle in order to claim the seat. Analogous to "calling shotgun” on Earth. (also Gunner’s Seat or Gunnery)

Gutter Cookie: this was a slang term used by the natives of Haruun Kal to indicate the thick sludge that formed in the gutters along city streets in Pelek Bew. It was highly corrosive, and would eat through the soles of most shoes if it was stepped in accidentally.

Hairless Wookiee: An insult that derives its impact from its juxtaposition of two incongruent concepts, i.e. members of the intimidating Wookiee race are generally quite hairy. This insult is sometimes used among humans in a somewhat playful manner

Howlpack: this was the slang term used to describe any loose affiliation of untrained warriors, during the last decades of the Old Republic. Nessie: Slang for an individual from any one of the 25 native humanoid populations of the system Stenness Node.

No-bit: An insult referring to a droid's processor, suggesting it is the robotic equivalent of brainless

Noob: A new addition to a military unit; often pejorative. Can also refer to a veteran making a rookie mistake [noobish].

Olys Corellisi:
Olys Corellisi ('Old Corellian') was the language spoken by the original settlers of Corellia, becoming extinct (in popular usage) around 4,000 BBY.

The Socorran language is termed Middle Corellian (midys Corellisi), tends to be the more colorful and difficult dialect, full of symbolism and idiosyncratic phrases. The Socorran “ofax ets burrin tehn” literally means “the air is too heavy here”. In Old Corellian, the translation is much clearer to the stranger looking in from the outside. Translated, the phrase means “the air is too dangerous (or thin) here.” When spoken figuratively, both translations mean that there is some potential danger posed by the environment. For the Socorran, it is a forced difficulty, a fight or conflict. For the speaker of Old Corellian, the term could literally pass as a warning against biohazards or toxins on alien worlds.

Some choice phrases used by individuals who speak Old Corellian among their smuggler sub-culture.

1: “ Aliha sel valle volgoth”: “What do you want?”

2: “ol’val”: Either “hello” or “goodbye”. Synonymous with “Aloha”

3: “doaba ol’val tru”: A more formal greeting, bidding the recipient peace and hope.

4: “min min”: Synonymous with “me”.

5: “chumani”: spoken cordially means “friend”, spoken in anger (an insult) it refers to the recipient as a nursemaid or weakling. When spoken by a happy child it’s a sign of respect.

6:“Bhesj, bhesj”: indicates patience. Roughly synonymous to “come on, come on”.

7: “sahsahlah”: (1: indicates the recipient is nieve 2): promised land 3): place of wise fools.

8: “Min min volgoth noh petchuk”: translates to “I want no bad blood between us”

9: “Ihn Socorri nyeve min bhiq ohn suman ehn nyiad”: translates to “A Socorran never turns his back on someone in need”

10: “Yke hyon fhars oblivyn cnoous oblivyn”: translates to “He who fears nothing, knows nothing.”

There is a tradition among smugglers, particularly those who still use the Old Corellian dialect -- “There is no esteem or profit to be gained in preying on the weak”.

Organics: A derogatory term coined by HK-50s to describe any organic being. This term made HK-47 very upset, prompting him to say, "'Anger' would be an understatement for the heat that builds up in my behavior core when these cheap imitations make their presence felt throughout the galaxy."

Organ-legger: smugglers who transport illegally-obtained donor organs across the galaxy.

Original Light: "what in the name of the Original Light..." was used as a mild oath, perhaps pertaining to creation.

Osik: Mandalorian expletive, referring to excrement.

Ossus Day: A day of reflection, coined by Jedi but also observed in many parts of the galaxy. (Can’t find an origin date for this so I’ll leave it until otherwise noted)

Out of the woods: A phrase meaning "escaped from danger"

Pulling a Bindo: A term used to describe a Jedi who had disobeyed the Jedi Code by marrying. The term originated from the exploits of the rogue Padawan Jolee Bindo.

Punching up a jump: The act of entering coordinates into a navigation computer prior to making the jump to lightspeed.

Rimkin: this is a Core Worlds slang term for anyone who lived beyond the Inner Rim. Most natives of the Outer Rim take great offense at the term.

Rimmer: Slang for a being hailing from the Outer Rim.

Ring-tail: The term is used to insinuate an individual is timid or cowardly, likely referring to some creature exhibiting a similar character

Sabacc Mask: Gambler lingo for the completely expressionless face of a competitor. A sabacc mask betrayed no emotion, not even in the slightly twitch of an eyelash. A true sabacc mask was said to be unreadable even by a Lorrdian.

Saen: A Coway swear word involving parentage

Salted: Said of spacers. Experienced, especially a spacer who has survived a few tours or actions. Originally (and still can) referred to a spacer who had undergone space-sickness and the usual illnesses common to starship crews.

Sandbag: A slur directed at the diminutive, hooded Jawas of Tatooine, as in, "Whaddaya know, the l'il sandbag's got a gun!" Sometimes also dirtbag

Sand mine: Something worthless. Something that someone with any common sense would know better than to get involved with.

Sapper: this was the slang term used to describe those individuals who performed hard labor. Often used as military jargon for a demolitions expert.

Scamp: An expletive or exclamation

Scampweasel: An insult, likely referring to a small breed of carnivore, as in, "You black-hearted scampweasel!"

Scarns: a Sullustan slang word referring to an unknown part of their anatomy.

Schutta: A Twi'lek insult, generally reserved for females of poor repute. It was derived from the name of a weasel-like creature native to Ryloth.

Scuttlebutt: Gossip, usually among military forces, that pertains to concurrent or forthcoming events. The rumor-mill.

Seasoned: Said of spacers. Very experienced, a spacer who has been through several tours and can be trusted to operate without much supervision.

Sevari Sidestep: this term, which was part of the jargon known as deal-slang, was based on the name used to describe a starship maneuver. In the art of the deal, though, it implied the use of finesse and guile to elude the long arm of the law.

Sexless marsh-toad: An insult comparing an individual to a gender-neutral species of amphibian

Show, The: starfighter pilots' slang for a space battle.

Shyriiwook: the main language of the Wookiees. It was considered to be the most emotive of Wookiee tongues, as opposed to the technical Thykarann or tribal Xaczik dialects. It could be understood by those who spoke Basic, however it was nearly impossible for non-Wookiees to pronounce.

Sidethink: A peculiar mindset, blending opportunism, careful planning and lethal efficiency with a healthy dose of mindless recklessness and pure cockiness.

Spore Tour: this was a slang term, used by the members of the Agricultural Corps to refer to any examination of a planet's native plant life and its applications in terraforming.

Tour: Military; term of service/ Spacer; a series of cruises, usually until each crew member has received a set amount of money or goods. Between tours on pirate ships, crews change, ship articles are amended, and votes on officers can be called.

Trakkie: this slang term was used in the Outer Rim Territories to describe any droid which used treads to rotating tracks for locomotion.

Transit: Spacer jargon for moving to or away from a jump point of a system.

Tramper: any independent starship owner who performed odd transport jobs, rather than joining a corporation or guild to pull in a regular paycheck.

Triage code X: Too badly injured. Not expected to survive despite medical attention.

Triggo: this was a slang term used by some troopers to describe primitive settlements of alien beings.
